Concretely, there are only three versions of the 2017 Kia Sorento: the LX, the EX and the SX. But each of these versions is also available with a few variations. The LX, for example, is the entry-level version and the only one that can be fitted with a 185-horsepower 2.4-liter GDI 4-cylinder GDI engine and the only one available with front-wheel drive.
The other versions offer a choice of a 4-cylinder turbo engine with 240 horsepower or a 3.3-liter V6 GDI developing 290 horsepower, the latter additionally adding space for 7 passengers and a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds (2,268 kilos). A 6-speed automatic transmission is offered with these 3 engines and all versions beyond the LX are available only with the Dynamax all-wheel drive system.
